Palladium

During my tenure as a Consultant at Palladium Group, I played a pivotal role in shaping the innovative Women’s Voices, Local Ownership (WVLO) toolkit, designed to scale reproductive and sexual health programs in Ethiopia, Pakistan, and Senegal. This transformative initiative not only underscored my dedication to driving impactful implementation but also showcased my expertise in optimizing strategies for maximum effectiveness. Additionally, I helped to organize an overseas training workshop for country teams funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, offering hands-on guidance to operationalize the WVLO toolkit and develop robust scaling plans for reproductive and sexual health and rights initiatives spanning from 2023 to 2025.

williamsworks

Between 2022 and 2023, I transitioned from the non-profit sector to the dynamic realm of consulting, where I provided strategic guidance to a diverse clientele including companies, artists, athletes, and High Net Worth Individuals (HNWI). Specializing in policy, philanthropy, and politics, I leveraged my expertise to navigate complex landscapes and drive impactful change across various sectors.

During my time as the Activism and Advocacy Manager at williamsworks, I was deeply immersed in the intricate world of policy analysis and strategic communication. Crafting persuasive messaging and communication materials tailored to diverse audiences, including members of Congress, grassroots organizations, and media outlets, became second nature. Leveraging these materials, I adeptly engaged external stakeholders to champion clients' policy priorities, particularly in the realms of global health and education. Guiding junior team members and interns further solidified my role as a mentor, nurturing talent within the organization.

Beyond traditional advocacy avenues, my role extended into project management for High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients, where I gained insight and expertise in both realms. This unique blend allowed me to develop personalized strategies to support clients in their philanthropic and advocacy endeavors. Through extensive research and analysis, I crafted philanthropy profiles, policy ideas, and programming, contributing to projects spanning critical topics such as reproductive justice, LGBTQ+ justice, and disability justice. Additionally, I spearheaded efforts to mobilize supporters and opinion leaders on pressing issues like Social Emotional Learning (SEL) and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), ultimately amplifying the impact of our collective advocacy efforts.

Roe v. Wade

At a Roe v. Wade rally in Washington, DC, I was captured by the ACLU holding a sign that read, "I was lucky – and privileged – I had access to: safe, affordable, and respectful abortion services. Everyone should have that same right." While some responses were supportive, the majority veered into cruelty and misinformation, igniting a fierce determination within me to ensure widespread access to accurate and comprehensive pro-abortion information and education.

Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force Volunteer

Since 2021 I have volunteered with the Washington Area Clinic Defense Task Force (WACDTF). The Defense Force is an all-volunteer, non-violent group founded in the 1980s to promote peaceful and safe access to reproductive health clinics in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

TechChange

I was prevoiusly a Facilitation and Gender Data Consultant at TechChange.

In this role I:

·        Supported facilitation and data visualization of the World Bank Future of Health Leaders Program, which aided Nigerian state-level decision-makers in reimagining equitable health systems and building essential leadership and digital health skills.

·        Updated and mobilized resources for TechChange's Gender Data 101 3.0 Course, a hands-on digital learning experience that equipped participants with the basic data skills needed to lead gender-responsive advocacy work.

Gender Data Podcast

Join me as I host my first official podcast, Gender Data 101! Originally recorded as a final project for the aforementioned TechChange Gender Data 101 2.0 Course, I asked my friend and colleague Diana Copeland to join as we chat through all things gender, data, and gender data.

Self-Care with White Ribbon Alliance

Insights that Ignite. Check out the new report from the Self-Care Learning and Discovery Series (2021) by White Ribbon Alliance and the Self-Care Trailblazer Group. The dynamic report highlights self-care promising practices, key learning questions, advocacy asks, living case studies, resources, and more, collated across 16 sessions at the Self-Care Learning and Discovery Series. You can use this tool to inform and ignite action to advance self-care in your context. The Series itself was so much fun to put together and I am equally excited the post-Series report we pulled together is informative and engaging.

University of Denver

Thrilled I was invited to participate in the Alumni Human Rights Panel hosted by the University of Denver - Josef Korbel School of International Studies. It was wonderful to meet and learn from my fellow panelists and I wish the JKSIS classes of 2022 and 2023 the best of luck in their future endeavors!

Some of my top tips to graduates:

  • Create your own website and update it frequently with what you’re up to and what you’re interested in.

  • Spend at least 20 minutes on LinkedIn a day - liking, commenting, researching organizations and individuals that inspire you and making connections.

  • Ditch your business cards and instead create your own (free!) QR Code Generator

International Confederation of Midwives

I’ve been fortunate to work with the International Confederation of Midwives to facilitate their regional Data and Advocacy Workshops. If you are a midwife or someone engaged in midwifery advocacy - I would love to connect you with midwives and Midwives’ Associations in your area to chat through opportunities for advocacy on key issues near and dear to midwives’ - and those individuals who they provide services to - hearts. Also, keep an eye out for a new Midwifery Advocacy eModule that will be available on ICM’s website - coming soon!

Self-Care Learning and Discovery Series

The White Ribbon Alliance on behalf of the Self-Care Trailblazer Group organized the 2021 Self-Care Learning and Discovery Series - a 16-virtual session event that dives into all things self-care. I was fortunate to work as project manager for this Series, which focuses on issues like self-care and abortion, the intersection of sexuality and ability, family planning products and technology, mental health and well-being, and more.
